Sociability is ranking high at cultural events or at the common “Vesper” ( customs and tradition play an important part in the Black Forest). Activities and recreation

The valleys and woods show a picturesque Black Forest:
For the passionate wanderer there are hundreds of kilometres of marked trails.

Besides such sports as nordic walking or inline-skating enjoy great popularity.
The wanderer and the mountain-biker will be particularly fascinatined by diversified trekking and biking tours.
There are opportunities to take part on organized tours if you want.

On all routes there is always the possibility for a rest and a stop at a customary inn.

Excursions and more

The surroundings offer a great variety of excursions:
Go for a stroll in the vibrating student’s town Freiburg (50 minutes by car), visit Strassburg, the metropolis of Alsace in France ( 1 hour by car) or go for an excursion to the Lake Constance (1,5 hours).
The “Dreiländereck” is one hour by car, there meet the borders of Germany, France and Switzerland and the visitor can enjoy all the advantages and impressions this area offers.

The nearby framework towns Haslach, Zell or Gengenbach are inviting for a stroll. It goes without saying that in all these towns you can find heated swimming-pools and miniature golf. The local "Baden" - gastronomy expects the visiter from far and near and is famous for good food and excellent wines.

Only one hour off there is the Europapark, Europe’s possibly greatest leisure park.
